Formerly known as ACADEMY OF MARITIME EDUCATION AND TRAINING, AMET was launched on 15th February 1993. Having started with only 14 students, AMET Maintained its continuous growth during the last 18 years to have strength of 2400 students on date undergoing various Diploma, Degree & Post Graduate Degree Courses. In providing Quality Assurance, AMET has obtained Certification to ISO 9001: 2000 Standards from Det Norske Veritas, Norway.
On 21th August 2007 AMET was conferred Deemed University status by UGC/MHRD on the strength of its Maritime courses & Training and has thus become India’s first and the only University in Maritime Education.
